Life can be expensive, especially if you have children. You can save money by not grabbing the latest product release.
You must choose between needs and wants. Choose what’s essential over what’s not.
Several products from Logitech were purchased within the last two years for a clean, professional look to meetings and videos. The business uses the Logitech LITRA GLOW Premium LED Streaming Light with TrueSoft, the C920e Business Webcam, the C922 Pro HD Stream Webcam, and the Blue Yeti World of Warcraft Edition USB microphone. (The microphone was purchased for the color scheme – not because I’ve ever played the game.)
There were less expensive choices, but they didn’t deliver the desired results. There were also more expensive choices that offered more than needed at the moment.
Those are the choices I make for my business.
A different thought process is used for personal tech items. I still use my old Apple iPad mini-2.
Yes, that’s right, a version straight out of 2013. I purchased it in 2014 when it finally went on sale.
Why use something so dated?
Because I don’t need the latest and greatest version, the old clunker does what I need it to do. It’s used for Audible, Kindle, very little web surfing, and to play a word game.

My daughter was in her sophomore year of college when I bought the device. I could have purchased the newest version but opted for the less expensive model. The money that would have been spent on the newer device was put to better use.
When something works, don’t replace it simply because there’s a newer model. Save your money for school, travel, home purchase, etc.
Tech gadgets can be a lot of fun. They can also add up quickly. If it doesn’t fulfill a need, let it go.
There are lots of people that have a state-of-the-art TV, sound system, home theater, etc. Some of these people are looking over their shoulders for the bill collectors.
Don’t be one of these people.
Keeping up with the Joneses will hinder your ability to achieve your most important goals. Don’t fall victim to the desire to impress. When your devices stop working, replace them.
There’s nothing more impressive than a stable, debt-free life. You’ll sleep and live better.
That’s not our area of expertise.
